Limitless Purpose is a nonprofit founded in September 2019 to provide opportunities and resources to help all children reach their limitless potential. The organization is inspired by the journey of Lila Mozingo, a young girl with Down syndrome, in the hope that inclusion will happen organically in schools and communities.
Leslie Clark of 100 Women Who Care Midlands SC presents the 2024 4th quarter donation of $9,600 to Lila Mozingo, chief inspiration officer of Limitless Purpose.
DESPITE the inevitable delays caused by the COVID pandemic, we have made great gains in serving families state-wide in only five years. Specifically, we:
•Named 290 Limitless Learner Summer Incentive Award Winners – young people with intellectual or developmental disabilities who were awarded more than $85,000 for learning or recreational opportunities. Thanks to generous donations, we have easily surpassed our $2,500 annual goal. The funds were paid directly to service providers.
•Distributed more than 37,000 books - all donated - to children and families who need them the most through schools, pediatricians, parks and Limitless Libraries.
•Held free events for families with refreshments, music, prizes, books and much more bringing children and their families together to celebrate the abilities of all children.
•Named Limitless Impact Award Winners:
2024 Camp Cole
Designed from the heart for children, teens and adults with illnesses, disabilities and life challenges, Camp Cole is a camp and retreat center where everyone, regardless of their circumstances, can connect, share, encourage and shine. Since opening its doors in 2021, they have served over 3,000 campers, some who have cancer, Down syndrome, autism, and sickle cell disease, children who have experienced or are currently experiencing homelessness or are from low-income families, children who are deaf or hard of hearing, and individuals experiencing many other life challenges.
2023 Patrick Bowers
Founded in 2017, the Screaming Eagles began with a vision of providing the special needs community unique athletic experiences through partnering with local elementary, middle and high schools, as well as colleges and universities. The vision became a calling to build a special needs complex where we would not just exist but thrive as a family.
2023 Rick Hayduck
Inspired by his daughter Jamison who has Down syndrome, Rick Hayduk, a seasoned hotel leader, had long aspired to operate a hotel and employ individuals with disabilities. In 2011, Clemson's Head Football Coach, Dabo Swinney, introduced Rick to Rich Davies, a third-generation real estate developer and involved Clemson alum. The three have come together with the goal of positively impacting the lives of others through creating Shepherd Hotels in collaboration with ClemsonLIFE.
2022 Ken Corning
Ken spent 25 years working as a genetic counselor with Greenwood Genetics, specifically working with children and their parents. He is now the operations manager at Camp Cole, a camp and retreat in the Midlands for children and adults with serious illness, disabilities and other challenges.
2021 Gary Matthews
Gary plans fundraisers that culminate in a Polar Bear Plunge in January to benefit Children's Charities of the Midlands. This year, Limitless Purpose was one of nonprofits to benefit from the $65,000 raised.
